The dishevelled star was visiting a local medical centre where she is rumoured to have undergone a mandatory drug test as part of her custody arrangement.
Lawyers for the singer have filed an emergency court motion seeking to expand visitation rights with her boys, who she lost custody of last week.
Spears left a supervised visit with her boys in tears earlier this week.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline, said that he received the motion Wednesday and will be in court Thursday.
An after-hours call to Spears' attorney was not immediately returned.
Spears was ordered October 1 to relinquish custody of her children by a court commissioner who had raised concerns about drug and alcohol use.
Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon later granted some visitation rights to Spears, but required that a monitor must watch her while she's with her sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James.
Meanwhile, the release date of Britney's new album Blackout has been brought forward because of internet leaks.
Originally due to be released on November 12th, it will now be available from October 29.
